Created by young Danish designer Mathias Steen Rasmussen, the MR01 Initial Chair from Gubi is a strikingly modern design thoughtfully crafted with the utmost detail. This honest design is the result of Rasmussen’s process of thinking with his hands as he draws sketches and builds prototypes. This modern lounge chair is low-slung with a gentle incline that is designed to give the sitter a sense of floating. Originally designed for Rasmussen to use in his own home to use for meditation, this chair is handcrafted using ropes and solid wood to create a lightness and transparency to the design.
